THIS was special. This was a chance to meet her peers, talk about the industry and advance her personal and business development.

There was no way Grace Munro was going to miss the Australian Conveyancer What’s Next? summit.

Only 48 hours earlier, Grace was on the operating table as surgeons repaired a badly broken leg suffered while looking after horses on the family property.

But, with the help of her mum Chelsea, Grace made the trip from Ballarat to take her place as one of nine honourees in AC’s International Women’s Day event.

“I was determined to come to this event even after the accident. I knew how important this was and there was no way I was going to miss it,” Grace said on Wednesday.

In late 2025, AC asked practitioners to nominate peers who they believed showed the virtues of the IWD initiative: generous in spirit, sharing knowledge, mentoring and training others, advocacy for gender equality and amplifying the voice of women in the workplace.

Grace, who is the founder and principal of Munro And Asscociates in Ballarat, epitomised all these qualities.

She was joined in the Class of 2026 by eight other inspiring women.

Judy Bliss runs Bliss Conveyancing, which has offices in Sydney, Nowra and Ulladulla, while Adele Brincat is the compliance expert for Sydney conveyancing and legal firm Dott & Crossitt.

Tania Gooley established Chambers Conveyancing in Melbourne in 2007, while Marlise Kersnovske is a senior manager at By The Rules Conveyancing on the Sunshine Coast.

Maria Kontorigas is a conveyancing expert with trisearch, while Kiani Mills runs Imperiale Conveyancing in Melbourne.

Sasha Obeid is the founder and director of Paramount Conveyancing in Melbourne and Jennie Tonner, who runs Cremorne Conveyancing in Sydney, is also the NSW president of the Australian Institute of Conveyancers.

Bliss said it was an honour to be part of such an elite group.

“Sometimes we all get stuck at work and don’t find the time to be part of events like this,” Bliss said.

“But I’m so glad I came because it is a great chance to network with others. We are all here to help each other.”

The AC What’s Next? summit not only honoured the nine amazing IWD candidates but also included speaker sessions with a range of experts such as Carlii Lyon covering off personal brand and growth.

The day ended with Jared Zak, founder of Dott & Crossitt, and Lauren Leathwood, director at The Conveyancing Group, discussing the future landscape of the industry.
