Kristy Bell: “Significance in what the award represents.”

THE conveyancing industry has a new champion, hailing from the Central West of NSW.

Bell Conveyancing, based in Orange and Bathurst, has won the 2026 “Best in Conveyancing Services” title at the Australian Small Business Champion Awards.

The winner, from a field of 10 finalists, was announced in a red-carpet presentation evening at The Star, Sydney, on Friday, May 1.

Owner/Operator and Licensed Conveyancer Kristy Bell said it’s an honour not just because of the title, but what it represents.

“Bell Conveyancing started in a spare bedroom, with a $35,000 loan and a goal to survive,” she said.

“No team, no big systems, just grit, long hours and a determination to build something better for regional clients.”

That was in 2017. Bell now has eight staff, including six Licensed Conveyancers, across two offices.

Although focussed on the Orange-Bathurst area, it offers statewide service and handles over 600 matters a year.

The firm was previously a finalist in the 2025 Small Business Champion Awards.

It won “Employer of Choice” at the 2023 Western NSW Business Awards and was a finalist in the Australian Women’s Small Business Champion Awards.

Kristy has over 25 years in the property industry.

Having started in conveyancing at just 18, she soon discovered property was her passion.

She completed an Associate Degree in Law at Southern Cross University in 2012 while working full-time in conveyancing.

To broaden her knowledge, Kristy then went on to work in real estate for five years where she gained knowledge in business management, sales, property management, marketing and customer service.

In announcing the 2026 award, Kristy acknowledged her dedicated, hard-working team, their clients, and referrers.

“We have always believed regional clients deserve metro level service, systems and expertise,” she said.

“This is proof that doing things the right way still counts.”
