Who’s hot with bots. AI picks our best conveyancers

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is shaping the way industries and businesses go about their work. It’s good for workflow and profile, experts say. We conduct a Chat GPT quiz on conveyancers.

ARTIFICIAL Intelligence (AI) can make our work easier and faster, through its ability to research, handle data, assess problems and suggest solutions.

Many conveyancers already use AI software to work faster and better. Some might also worry that AI could eventually replace them.

“AI is going to reshape every industry, and every job,” says LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman.

It could already be affecting your business and profitability – by telling customers which conveyancing firm to use.

The Australian Conveyance asked four leading AI platforms – ChatGPT, Google’s Gemini, Perplexity and Grok – to find Australia’s top conveyancers.

Nationally, ChatGPT and Gemini both nominated Conveyancing.com.au and Lawlab, with ChatGPT also adding Settle Easy.

Perplexity made Lawlab its top national recommendation, while Grok named Conveyancing.com.au, LEAD Conveyancing, Ownit Conveyancing, and Dott & Crossitt.

Each platform also offered State and city-based suggestions (see table.)

They considered such factors as size, years in business, fees, volume, client testimonials, independent reviews, stated expertise, membership of the AIC, industry awards, and local presence.

Given enough time, anyone could do the same research. But AI did it in a flash, often offering its own testimonials.

For example, Gemini on Lawlab: “This firm is frequently mentioned for its streamlined processes and accessibility.”

And Grok on LEAD Conveyancing: “Fixed fees with no surprises.”

ChatGPT offered to refine its searches by State or city, whether buying or selling, and any “quirks” like simultaneous settlement.

“Ask who actually handles your file,” it urged. “And confirm they work in PEXA daily for digital settlements.”

So, how can conveyancers get in the good books with AI’s bots? Consider the factors listed above, and especially:

  • Ensure membership of professional associations like the Australian Institute of Conveyancers
  • Have good advertising and a professional website that highlights experience, fee structure, office locations, staffing, awards and testimonials
  • Be active on social media, garnering as many positive mentions as possible
  • Check “Best Of” lists. Guard your reputation and address any criticism.

AI also looks for citations in Australian Conveyancer, undoubtedly an excellent resource.

For more, conduct your own search and if available, click on “Sources.” ChatGPT consulted an astonishing 104 – from the ASX to YouTube – before spitting out its recommendations.

Footnote: AI is not perfect. Some city or state picks appeared to have wrong names or locations and were omitted during AC’s fact-checking. So, our jobs are safe… for now.
