TECH innovator InfoTrack has reclaimed naming rights to its SuperMaxi ahead of the 2026 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race.
The vessel, which has twice won line honours as LawConnect, will race as InfoTrack for the first time since 2019.
The renewed name and black, white and orange livery were revealed in a champagne ceremony at Sydney’s Woolwich Pier on Wednesday.
InfoTrack not only aims to win the 628 nautical mile race but raise money for Starlight Children’s Foundation under the “Sailing for a Purpose” banner.
“If we can make a difference to sick kids and their families along the way, that’s a win in itself,” said InfoTrack founder and skipper Christian Beck.
Australian Father of the Year 2026 and media personality Matty J (Johnson) has been named official ambassador and will be part of the 21-strong crew.
“As a dad of three young girls, I know what it’s like to experience the stress of illness and emergency trips to hospital,” Matty said.
“That’s why I’m so proud to support Starlight and the incredible work they do for sick kids.
“Learning to sail was my New Year’s resolution, so I’ve certainly thrown myself in the deep end.”
“Thanks to InfoTrack, the millions who watch the race will have the opportunity to help Starlight create moments of happiness and joy for seriously ill children."
InfoTrack chief executive John Ahern said the vessel would carry the most advanced technology in the 100-plus fleet.
“There are a record number of cameras live-streaming from onboard, including throughout the night for international viewers,” Ahern said.
Beck explained that InfoTrack would race as “the people’s boat”.
“We want everyone to feel part of the race,” he said, “whether they’re watching us live from onboard, following the crew from start to finish or donating to Starlight.”
Starlight CEO Louise Baxter said the Boxing Day race would give the global sailing community a chance to be part of something bigger than a sporting event.
“Thanks to InfoTrack, the millions who watch the race will have the opportunity to help Starlight create moments of happiness and joy for seriously ill children,” she said.
Christian Beck purchased the SuperMaxi in 2017 and made his debut in the Sydney-Hobart that year.
He has since competed eight times, winning line honours in 2023 and 2024 and finishing second in 2019, 2021, 2022 and 2025.
In 2022, Beck introduced an onboard livestream of the race, the first boat to do so.
InfoTrack has been extensively upgraded ahead of this year’s event.
Dockyard work included a full keel inspection and rebuild, stripping 500kg in keel bulb weight, a new mainsail, mast removal and inspection, hydraulic servicing and a rebuilt steering system.
The video system was overhauled, with extra cameras and an automated switching system linked to onboard sensors.
An extra Starlink terminal was added to improve media communications.
Christian Beck will skipper the vessel, with Tony Mutter and Chris Nicholson sharing helm, trim and navigation duties.
Chris Lewis will be Navigator, Silas Nolan serves as Crew Boss and Ty Oxley as Boat Captain.
